Led Display For High Temperature region

When install the led display in high temperature environment, the most important thing is surely the special design of the led screen panel itself. With the special design, it would resist the harsh environment of the high temperature caused by the strong sunlight, or geographical factors such as equator, tropics, and desert. We have made a tutorial page showing part of the design and material we'd need to pay attention to.

With all the special features adopted, the led display would resist the highest temperature of 60 Celsius.

But what need to be noticed is that the LED display is actually composed by a big quantity of components which are all belong to electronics. For any electronic device, a suitable working environment would last the lifetime, which is no doubt.

So as a good suggestion, if the installation environment allowed, it's better to create a suitable working environment for the led display. And in case of the high temperature location, it would be perfect if could install the air conditioner inside the maintenance channel, please refer to the picture as below:

To save the power energy, and to make the air conditioner control easy, usually the air conditioner would be designed as temperature-sensed, i.e. the air conditioner will run automatically only when the temperature reached a defined value. And it is not difficult to realize this. If there's any problem, please just contact us and ask for the solution.
And here is some suggestion on deciding the suitable air conditioner: 1 PH will afford 9m3 space inside the maintenance channel.

At last, we need to note: the air conditioner would be helpful to last the lifetime of the whole led screen, but it doesn't belong to the rigidity requirement of the led display installation. Especially for the small size led signs, there's usually no maintenance channel left behind, in addition that the air conditioner will increase much cost comparing the total investment of the project. In this case, usually the air conditioner part is cancelled. With special design of heat dissipation, the led screen sign will not have the problem belong to the malfunction range, just the lifetime should not be as long as the led displays running in a suitable temperature range.

Led Cabinet for Cold Weather

We all know the the material determines the quality of any electronic equipment and device including the led display. Without the good quality material, it's impossible to produce the advanced and high quality led display. So we adopt the high quality components to all the crucial part of the led module. And we list some as below for your reference:
1. The PCB is the 1st class KB material.
2. The LED is the low temperature resistance spec.
3. The plastic material is the GE engineering material, which resist the temperature of -40 - +120 celsius.
4. The driving IC is MACROBLOCK.
5. The wiring cable is the international standard spec, and with the silicon skin.
6. The waterproof encapsulant is the good weathering resistance silicon dioxide
7. The capacitor and the reistor is the Japanese brand such as SANYO, MURATA
8. etc.
So from the very first knowledge page introducing about the cold weather and low temperature resistance led display, we would find that each point should be considered very well. From the led cabinet material, power supply to each components on the led module, all should be very well considered.

Led Display Low Temperature Resistant - Conformal Coating

In last knowledge page, we have introduced the attention on the power supply and warm air curtain parts, to let the whole led display screen system low temperature resistant. And in this knowledge page, we will introduce further about the conformal coating process to the power supply and PCB.
The outdoor electronic led displays run long period under the open air environment, so the high-low temperature resistant, waterproof, anti-corrosion is necessary to the PCB, power supply, and solder joints etc. To achieve that, we adopt the conformal coating to all those components. The PCB conformal coating is a special mixture, to protect the components on the PCB and prevent the ingress from the environment. In this way, the led screen equipment's life time would be longer, as well, it would work more stable and reliable.
The conformal coating is painted onto the surface of the PCB, and form a light, thin and flexible film with the depth of only 25-50 micrometer. It would be capable to protect the circuit from the damage under the environment of vibration, humidity, salt, moisture, high temperature, low temperature, and the chemical material environment.
Without the conformal coating painted, the PCB is possible to have the problems such as corrosion, become mildewed, and short circuit, this kind mulfunction would do big harm to the electronic equipments.
To led display system, we should pay the special attention because the running time is very long, the working environment is not good, and the components are many. So to ensure the reliability of the led display screen, we make the strict quality control on the process of painting the conformal coating.
Actually in this page, we introduce much about the conformal coating. It seems not much related with the low temperature resistant. But actually it's one factor that need to pay attention to. For example when the temperature get low from the high temperature, the low temperature will allow more water to freeze, from the air...

How to control LED display with Laptop, notebook?

Following with the last knowledge page, we will introduce the laptop, notebook control method of the led displays with signal data feed from the 1000Mbit/s net card. And for this kind synchronous led display, in essential there's a software program installed in the laptop, notebook or PC. The software will read the data stored inside the graphic card. And the software will send the order to send the data to the receiving cards of the led display, via 1000Mbit/s network. And for this kind synchronous led display, if you'd realize the laptop, notebook control, you just need the laptop, notebook featured with the 1000Mbit/s net port.
But in case your led display doesn't belong to the mentioned 2 types, and still you want to control the led display by notebook, laptop, then a video processor is required. The video processor is compatible with VGA/DVI/VIDEO and many other kind video signal input and support the DVI output. As well, the external sending card is required for that.
At the last, we shall make a summary of the laptop, notebook control method to the led display:
A. Asynchronous led display: no other devices required.
B. Synchronous led display with DVI port:
1. Laptop, notebook with DVI port.
2. External sending card
3. Video processor(as option, and rarely use)
C. Synchronous led display with 1000Mbit/s net port: the notebook, laptop should have 1000Mbit/s net port.
So, sometimes you get a simple answer that you must have the PC to control the synchronous led display, is not correct. Actually with learning further about the led display system, you could easily find the solution to control the led display with laptop, notebook.

Good Quality LED Display Circuit Design

The printed circuit board, i.e. PCB design plays an important role in the manufacture process of led displays. The circuit design reasonable or not, would determine directly the led display quality good or not.
Nowadays in China, most the manufacturers choose the same circuit design of led displays. We think it's normal as the led display technology is very developed and mature. But that doesn't mean all the led displays should be with the same circuit design especially when the clients would install the led displays in harsh environment. So after all, even if one manufacturer adopt the common seen design for one led display order, still they need to know the reason why, and should make certain the design is good for the practical usage. Only in this way, when one client ask the display for harsh environment, the manufacturers would know how to improve the design, and make it suitable to the led display's application.
The circuit board design is very professional engineering field, so we're not trying to coach you all in one short article, it's impossible. But we'd like to share two basic points with you:
1. The Array of Driving IC. We use this name because it's easier to understand. But actually we should call it as the driving circuit board design, especially when refer the concept of "driver and LED board seperated" technology. If we compare the control system as the brain of human being, the driving IC would be just like the "Ganglion". With very tiny current, the driving IC receive the order from control system and control directly the LED's flicker. In this way and from a far distance, people see the video, image, or letters on the led displays.
If the array of driving IC not good at the circuit design, it would influence the brightness of LED. For example, some the technicans find the brightness of one LED module not average, the LEDs at the edge are darker a little than the ones in centre, that's because the "tiny current" of the driving IC "runs" too long on the PCB board, so it "fades" and influent the normal working voltage of the LEDs.
So with this sample, you'd know how important to make the led display circuit design reasonable and good.
2. The Heat Dissipation. We all know that the overheat would influent the LED's attenuation and stability. So it is important to improve the heat dissipation. Most the people understand the function of Aluminum heat sinks and the cooling fans. But actually a good circuit design would greatly reduce the heat of led module itself. So a simple question and comparison is: for a patient, which is better, to eliminate the possiblity of fever? or to find good method to let the fever gone? The answer is very clear.
Actually it refers the array of all components on the circuit board. On the circuit board, there are big quantity of LEDs, Driving ICs. So it is very important to find the best method to array those components in a reasonable way. And only in this way, we would guarantee the heat dissipated efficiently.
Certainly, there are far more factors need to be considered when design the PCB, and actually it is a classification of modern science. We are just showing those two basic factors the engineers of led display manufacturers need to consider, and hope it would inspire your interest in learning more about led displays technology.

Low Cost LED Display

"Low Cost" is obviously an attractive word to clients of any product, all over the world. Especially to those clients who are interested in the products "made in China", in fact, it's one of the most important reasons of locking on "importing from China". As one of the manufacturers in China, sometimes we're not sure if we should be proud of that, or feel the shame. We understand very much the sense in common that as one commodity, the "good price" of led display is important, but a responsible supplier should pay great attention to the quality and service as well. In our concept, good price should be always after of the good quality. But as the dark side of fast growing economic, and drived by the desire of "selling more", many manufacturers and suppliers have put the "low price" on the first place. That has been ruining the reputation of "made in China".
There is one old saying that "you get what you pay for". We believe it is the truth to honest suppliers - with a reasonable margin, the final price is determined greatly by the material.
There are great quantity of LEDs adopted for one led display, and that's the major part of all the cost. The mainstream offer of led displays are claimed with "SILAN" LED, but why the price differs so much? Here we will just use some questions to answer this question - do you know how to identify the LED chip brand? do you know how to identify the LED chip size? And do you know how to identify the encapsulation technology of the LED? do you know all the differences? 
In fact, even to the led display manufacturers, it is a very complex work to test the LED quality. Even with the tested result, sometimes we couldn't make sure of the quality level because it may perform difference in practical application. The LED vendors has always several classes LEDs to the led display manufacturers, for the same spec. And it is no doubt the practical performance would be different. And how about the "led encapsulation"? Some the led display manufacturers claim their encapsulated LEDs are very good quality and better than the bought. This saying is not worth trusting at all because led encapsulating requires higher technology than led display processing. The professional led encapsulating companies have more dedicated engineers, more experiences and more invests. As far as we have learnt, there is only one reason for the led display manufacturers to encapsulate the LEDs, that's the lower material cost.
In next knowledge pay, we will shortly introduce the possible problems of the low cost LEDs.

Is the video processor necessary for led display?

When asking an offer from led display manufacturers, frequently the clients see the option of video processor which costs not little. So is the video processor necessary for led display?
To find the answer, we need to learn the function of the video processor. Simply speaking, the video processor is to covert the external signal to the signal type compliant with the led display. And during this process, the led video processor need to accomplish the steps as below:

1. The improvement of the processing depth. Now the grey level of led screen has reached 16 bits, while the input signal source are mostly 8 bits. Hence, following with the HD display times, 10 bits or even 12 bits processing technology would be adopted widely.
2. The convert of resolution spec. Most the video signal sources such as blue ray DVD, PC, HD player have the defined spec (refer to VESA, ITU, SMPTE standards), but the modular design of led screen makes the resolution any value. And the video processor is going to covert all kinds of signal resolution to the physical resolution of led display screen.
3. Zoom Scale: during the process of resolution spec convert, the image need the zoom, no matter to let it bigger of smaller, there would be complete image on the led screen.
4. Color space conversion: the colour gamut of the led display is very wide, while most the signal's color gamut is small, for example NTSC. To achieve the excellent color and image performance on the led screen, the color space conversion should be done.
5. The image process and enhance technology: the digital image process technology has been developing since 20's of 20th century. And there are a lot of patent technology such as DCDi, ACC2, ACM3D etc of Faroudja Lab. Those technology has improved greatly the visual effect of the images.

In practical usage, the video processor is not quite necessary if the led display is for common use and the video source is only from computer; but if you'd need the input from DVD, Video camera etc external signal sources, the video processor would be necessary. And if there's very strict requirement on the convenience and video quality of led screen, it's better to choose the led video processor.

LED Cabinet



LED cabinet is the basic modular unit that clients receive to assemble the led screen panel. But the importance of led cabinet design is easily ignored.
In some clients or even the sales person's opinion, led cabinet is just a unit to housing the small led modules, power supplies, and other components. Indeed, this is the very basic function of the led display cabinet, but the led display manufacturers should consider much further than this. A good led cabinet and a bad led cabinet have almost the same outward appearance, but in the practical operation, the influence to the led screen performance is totally different.
Then, what need to be considered, when design the led cabinet?
Firstly, it should protect the led modules, power supplies, and all the internal components and devices well.

Secondly, it should ensure the safety of the operation, and it must reach the high level ingress protection, without the entry of dust and water.
Thirdly, which is the most important and easily ignored, is the design of heat loop. We say this is most important because most the manufacturers could accomplish the requirements of the above 2 items, but this item requires higher design level.
Following with the long operation time and the temperature of environment, the heat emitting would rise. If the heat couldn't be dissipated efficiently, the led screen quality would be down, and the lifetime would be short.
This sounds very easy to understand but to accomplish a good design, it's not easy at all. The led display manufacturers must pay great attention to it.
A bad designed led cabinet will not influent the led display quality immediately. For a newly installed led screen, it may seem all right. But after a period of running, all the problems will emerge. And this, is very similar with what we call "hidden problem" of led display screens.
At last, when have an RFQ, the clients find "the only difference is the price". But it's better to learn that it is very easy to show words and pictures in email, a good description doesn't mean a good quality. Sometimes, with the reasonable margin, the higher price is of the better quality product. There's not the real famous brands such as Barco, Daktronics in China, the higher price are not for the "brand added value", but for the better material and design.

How to make round LED video screen



The round LED video screens are actually made from the same modules with regular shape led displays. Although technically there's not much difficulty to customize a round shape PCB for assembling the LEDs, still it's not quite necessary especially if the quantity not very big. Once the round shape PCB designed and produced, it would become a waste if there's any change of the circle diameter. Then how to use the normal 8x8 or 16x16 dot matrix led modules to make the round led video screen?
You would understand immediately when see the below picture.


And yes, with customizing the cabinet shape of led screen, when the 4 parts assembled, it would become the basic circle. Certainly this is just the half finished screen, and in next step, what you need to do is to put a boarder around it. Then the magic happen, see below:

It is indeed the art of vision.
So it is not difficult to understand that with any pixel pitch from the smallest 1.9mm to the big 31.25mm, your led display could have a round screen area to show the video.
Is it no necessary? Definitely not, because whenever you must remember the essential of advertising is to attract people's eyes.
As well, this gives us one inspiration that we could make the led display to any shape, triangular, rhombus, cross etc. And certainly cross shape led display is widely seen on pharmacy. And simply speaking, as long as you have a creative idea of what you want, as the led display designer and manufacturer, we would be capable to realize it for you.

Outdoor LED Display Structure


Before the installation of big size outdoor led display, we'd need to build the steel structure onto the ground, the roof, or the wall, to support the whole led display system. In the domestic China market, sometimes the clients would need the led display manufacturers contract the whole engineering project. But for the overseas market, the construction of the steel structure are mostly contracted with the local engineering companies. And the led display suppliers would provide the led display cabinet drawing, as well as the steel structure drawing when required. The local professional engineering company would build the steel structure according to the drawing provided.

There are many factors need to be taken into consideration, when design and build the steel structure. We know it's impossible to describe all very well in one page, so here we'd just generally discuss about this topic.
1. We think no matter for what, safety is always the most important factor. When building the steel structure of led display, the bearing force of the structure is the most important - it must be strong enough to afford all the led display systems. And the possible windage resistance must be considered.
2. The protection of the led display is necessary. Most the big size led displays are with back doors. The ingress protection of this kind led display is not IP65. So it is necessary to cover the back side of the led display to make it weather resistance. Especially for the "simplified cabinet", the cover should be built very well - once the water entered, the led display equipements and devices would be damaged.
3. The maintenance convenience should be well considered. There would be a room behind of the led display panel, and usually it's integrated with the steel structure. The maintenance room must be able to place the possible devices such as switch box, control pc etc. And it must give the easy access for the possible maintenance.
There're also other factors need to be considered very well, but above are the 3 most important things, when design and build the steel structure of led display.

Cube LED Video Display

Some kind cube led display is for the lighting decoration, to show the dynamic light effect, or simple letters etc. You would see a lot of pictures with sourcing in the internet.

But it's also interesting to make advertising led video displays to cubic. In this article, we will introduce how to do that.
Essentially, the basic unit of the cube led screen is the same with the regular led screen. And just when we produce the cabinet, we make the edge smaller. And in this way, when the four led cabinets connected together, you get the whole unit of cube led display.

One thing to be noticed is - when building the cube shaped led display, there must be a small gap existing between each side. The gap size is very small comparing with the whole led display, and usually it's 2-3cm.

Bus LED Display Centralized Control and Management Solution

We're introducing the system structure and basic function of bus led display. But in fact, it could be adopted to all led display centralized control solution.
1.Solution Goal and Purpose
Controlling, monitoring the broadcast and working status of all terminal led displays, from one control centre.
The advertising information on each terminal led display could be published from one control centre. The advertising information could be published separately, and in groups. The advertising information could be the same, and different.

2. Summary of Devices Items Required
a. Internet access to the led display terminals is required. IP address could be DNAT (Dynamic Network Address Translation), and no necessary to be Static IP Address; no special requirement on the internet system – it could be either ADSL, or 3G.
The system supports the convergence between different internet systems.
b. Each LED display is assembled with one Network Media Box, two receiving cards (for 2.56m length, P10mm spec)
c. WEB server should be built in the control centre. The WEB server must be assigned with a dedicated static IP address. OS (Operation System) of PC in control centre should be Window Server XP, WIN7 etc.
Each Network Media Box will indentify the dedicated internet IP address and download the advertising files, programs from the WEB server automatically.

How to use air conditioning for the led display screen?

As mentioned in last knowledge article, sometimes it's better to install the air conditioning to led display screen, though it's not much.
How to use air conditioning to led display screen?

Basically under the below installation environment, we would suggest the air conditioning:
1. The area with long period and extremely hot weather, such as some middle east or the tropical area countries.
2. The air ventilation has problem, in which case the heat couldn't release out.
3. Giant size led display.
Also, if you have enough budget and pay very much attention onto the maintenance of the led display equipment, it's better to consider the air conditioning.
But when you use it, you must consider below:
1. The cooling fans of led display couldn't be cancelled. As mentioned, the risk would be - if the air conditioning have the malfunction, without the cooling fans, it would be a disaster.
2. It's no necessary to keep the air conditioning working all the time. The whole system would be temperature sensed, which means only when the temperature reached a defined value, the air conditioning would work.
Some client may have this question - in my area sometimes the temperature is extremely high, shall we use the air conditioning? The answer is not necessary because when the temperature is extremely high, the air conditioning inside the led display system would help little to cooling. And when under this weather, there's no very good method to cool the system, and we suggest you turn off the system for hours.
But please notice all the suggestion are based on ideal thought to protect the led display system. And in fact, it harms little to keep the system working hours under the extreme weather - anyway in most area, the extreme hot weather is only several days.
At last, we'd say it's hard to say yes or no to air conditioning. So the best way is to describle more about your case, our professional sales engineer will consider and bring out the solution specially for your led display project.

Replace the receiving card of LED display

Receiving card plays an important role in the synchronous led display systems. It keeps reading the program command from the sending card or the computer.
But sometimes, though it's quite rare, the receiving card may fail. And when the problem detected is certain the receiving card, you need to replace it with a new one.
The replacement process is very easy - you could just turn off the power of the led cabinet with this receiving card, disassemble the screws, take out the receiving card, assemble the new receiving card and plug the cables accordingly.
When you turn on the power of the cabinet with the new receiving card, it would show something not correct, please refer to below picture.
Replace the receiving card of LED display
That's because the receiving card is not configured. If you have the experience in using led displays, you would know that the .rcg file(of LINSN) or the .rsps(of DBSTAR) is not loaded. And these "intelligent" files are in fact a quick method to "build a communication bridge" between the control system and the led display modules.
So after you've replaced the receiving card, you need to upload the "intelligent" files to the receiving card.

But always remember: the "intelligent" files is very important, so whenever you bought the led display, you must keep the files copy. What to be noticed is - if the files are lost and you couldn't get it from the original led display suppliers, things would be a little complex because this is related with the led display product design - and different led display manufacturers may design their product different.
The experienced engineer could create the files with a online remote assistance, but this will cost hours of time.

Rental led display cabinet - General Introduction

Now it is hard to imagine a stage without led displays. It has been providing the amazing visual experience to the audience. And in fact, with no restriction in the size, shape, full weather resistance and high brightness, as well as the smaller and smaller pixel pitch developed out, a well designed led display could create any visual effect to realize your genius idea.
There are plenty of rental led display options, no matter in cost, tech features, or the outer appearance. But generally we can divide them into 2 types - the regular type and the irregular type(such as the mesh type, curtain type, and the flexible ones). And as the most stable rental led display, for the regular type(the widely seen flat panel led screens), the product difference is mainly the cabinet - material, production technology. The material and production technology determines the cabinet size, weight, strength, assembly&disassembly speed which is important to the frequent rental events in different places. Certainly the screen performance and stability is crucial - but remember for any type rental cabinet, the modules and other internal components could be customized - there are enough options from lower quality to high quality.
So with focusing on the rental led cabinet material and production technology, we will use several pages to introduce the different type rental led displays. And we hope it would be helpful for you choose a suitable rental led display for your project and application.

Generally there are 3 types rental led display cabinets:
1. Sheet Metal(Steel, or Aluminum).

2. Aluminum Profile.

3. Aluminum Die-casting.

And no matter for which kind rental led cabinet, there are 4 necessary parts:
1. The "bone" - hanging pillar device. With this, the whole screen panel composed with the small cabinets would not fall apart, no matter when you stack the whole screen panel on the ground, or hang the whole screen panel in the air. In addition, a good "bone" structure device called "gear wheel hanging pillar" could tighten the cabinets above and below, in this way, the gaps between the led cabinets would be smaller.
2. The "body" - cabinet frame to assemble modules, power supply units, control card etc. It should be strong, light weight, and perform good in heat dissipation. For the outdoor spec, it must be waterproof to protect the components inside.
In additon, what's more important - the production of the cabinet must be accurate, to avoid evident gaps between the cabinets.

3. The "hand" - locks to grab tight the cabinets between each other. Strictly speaking, those locks belong to accessories because it is mainly the cabinet production technology determining the gaps between the cabinets. With using the locks, we could make the gaps smaller further.

4. Other accessories such the handles for the convenience of operation, the aviation plugs for the convenience of cabling, the hanging beam for the convenience of hanging installation, the flight cases for the convenience of transportation etc.

Rental led display cabinet - how to choose

It seems there are too many rental led display cabinet options in market, but if classify according to the production technology, there are only three types - sheet metal type, aluminum profile(linear aluminum) type, and die-casting aluminum type. And we have the pages to introduce these previously.
But there are some difficulties when you make a decision because even among one type rental led display cabinet, different manufacturers' product, price varies a lot. So what are the factors you must take into good consideration? This is the topic we're trying to discuss in this page.
Beyond all, when you start a project, you must know very clear about your budget, as well, you need to have a general idea on what you want to get.
Budget enough?
If you have enough budget, you would eliminate both the sheet metal cabinet and aluminum profile(linear aluminum) cabinet, and focus only on sourcing a good die-casting aluminum cabinet. The advantage of die-casting aluminum cabinet is obvious and complete, a good die-casting aluminum cabinet performs best no matter in its fast assembly&disassembly, or its strength.
All purpose mould? Or special mould?
When compare the die-casting aluminum cabinets from different led display suppliers, you could begin with the outer appearance. If many your possible suppliers offer the same type die casting aluminum, it must be the all purpose mould, i.e. it's a type of cabinet that any led display manufacturer could buy from the same cabinet vendor. The price of this kind die-casting aluminum cabinet must be cheap but the performance would not be so good as special mould, i.e. a led display manufacturer invest on this and it's exclusive to them.
For all purpose mould, the price should be taken into good consideration because for this quality level die-casting aluminum cabinet, the led display manufacturers would use just common electronic components, not the best. And you could try to discuss further into the modules etc to see what it would come with.
For special mould, the price are usually more expensive, but the quality would no doubt better. When a led display manufacturer develop this high level product, they will use their best. So the key point you'd focus on is its product advantages - they will show you formally and usually there would be a document with its very detailed introduction.
And our new type rental led cabinet is with our great invest in its mould development. In addition, it could be both for indoor and outdoor application!

So in one word, if you have enough budget, you'd better focus on the die-casting aluminum cabinet, with special mould.
Budget not enough?
Firstly we would always suggest to eliminate the option of "aluminum profile(linear aluminum)" because there's no advantages at all.
1. For indoor screen. The die-casting aluminum cabinet with all purpose mould costs as low as the other two kinds cabinet, but the advantage is obvious. So we can say, with price reduction, for indoor rental led display, you could consider just die-casting aluminum cabinet.
2. For outdoor screen. Till now, there's rarely the all purpose mould of die-casting aluminum cabinets. So as an economic solution, it's better to consider the sheet metal cabinet. Sheet metal cabinet is widely seen product but different manufacturers still have different quality - so to determine which to choose, you must get back to the comparison of modules and internal components adopted.
So in one word, if you want an economic solution, for indoor rental led display you'd consider the die-casting aluminum cabinet, with all purpose mould; for outdoor rental led display you'd consider the sheet metal type cabinet.

Led Display Module With Magnet

Led module, also called as led tile, is actually the basic unit of the modular design of led display. With the small led modules in size such as 160mm x 160mm for P10, 256mm x 128mm for P16, you could build the led screen with closest size to your requirement.

To assemble the led module, usually the workers in the manufacturers would use screw. There are led modules with screw holes behind, which is the most common seen type; and there are led modules with screw holes on front, which is the front service type led module. You could contact our sales engineers to learn more information about that.

Here we're going to introduce the led module assembled with magnet. This kind led module is actually the spec with screw holes behind. Based on this common seen spec, we assemble the magnet behind, so that the led module could be absorbed on to the Iron structure.

In this way, we can use the same type led cabinet for the assemble. (there would be too many led modules to be assembled if you assemble the led modules one by one, to make a big led screen, so we build the Iron cabinet close to 1x1m, assemble the led modules and other components, wire it ready. So the basic modular unit for your installation would be the led cabinet. We make it 1x1m approximately is because this size is easy for the transportation, as well as the handling.)
There is no screw used for the led module assembly, so the first advantage is it's very easy to maintenance - you'd just need to take out the module for the replacement; another advantage is that it could be serviced from the front side, and this is very good if you'd assemble the led screen close onto the wall.

But to be noticed is - this kind led module assembly method could only be adopted to the indoor led screen. Since the magnet makes a little distance between the led module and led cabinet, there would be surely the gaps, so it would not be waterproof.

LED Module Power Connector

LED module is also called as led tile, which name describes very well about its property - a very basic unit of the modular design, to "build" the giant size "led video wall". Generally, we can say one complete led screen system is composed by two parts - led display panel, and led display control system. LED display panel is actually the body of one led display system. And LED module is actually the most important part. If the led display has very good quality led module, with adopting a high class control system, this led display would show very good video and pictures; but if one led display has bad led modules, even you adopt the best control system, the video and picture shown on the led screen would be bad. In fact, no matter the control system, or the PSU, or any other device, we can easily replace them with a not too high cost. But if you want to replace all the led modules, it means no big difference from replacing the whole led display screen.
Generally, the Chinese led display manufacturers use 3 kinds power connectors in led module, please refer to below picture.

A and C kind power connector is usually for the clients who have the basic technical skill to fix electronic devices, because of the screws work you must do when you replace the broken led modules. B kind power connector is very widely adopted nowadays, we call it "VH4" type and the advantage is it doesn't require any tool to replace the led module, what you need to do is just plug out and plug in. But this kind power connector has several quality levels, if the spec adopted doesn't have good quality, the connector would be easy to loose.
And certainly, the power connector is very small part of the led module, it only determines if the led module could get a stable 5V power input. Regarding as the key points to determine the led module quality, we will gradually introduce some.

External Sending Card Box

In most cases, the default type of the sending card is assembled in PCI slot of the PC. But this doesn't work in laptop as there's no PCI slot for the assembly. In this situation, you would need to consider the external type sending card box.

In essential, no matter LINSN or DBSTAR, the external sending card is actually the same with normal type sending card. In another word, it is the sending card assembled into a specially-made box.
The signal source to the external sending card could be computer(PC,Laptop), video processor, or other device which is with DVI signal output.
What need to be noticed is - some led display companies claim the external sending card is compatible with VGA and HDMI signal. It is not 100% correct, because no matter VGA or HDMI signal, when feed into the sending card, it must be converted to DVI signal.
As a conclusion, in below situation you should consider the external sending card box:
1. You want to use laptop instead of PC.
2. You want to feed the DVI signal not from the computer, but other devices.

Linsn Sending Card Assembly

It is quite normal that the clients would choose to use their own PC, as the controller of LED display.
In this case, you would need to assemble the sending card and graphic card to your PC. Here we will show you the process.

Before starting, please get in hand the parts as below:
Please power off the PC and follow the steps as below:

1.Connect the DVI Graphic Card (we provide) to the PCI-E (or AGP) of the computer motherboard (main board, system board). Then connect the DVI Graphic Card to the PC monitor, via the VGA port.

2.Connect the Sending Card to the PCI of the computer motherboard (main board, system board). 

3.Connect the DVI Graphic Card to the Sending Card, by the DVI cable provided.

4.Connect the Sending Card to the USB port of the computer.

5.Connect the signal cable to the Sending Card (either one of the RJ45 ports).

6.Turn on the PC, and check the indicator light of sending card. (Red on, Green flicker)

How to repair SMD led display screen

Replacing LED is the basic skill of repairing led display screen. And as long as a technician commands the skill of soldering work, it would be easy for them to learn how to replace the LED.
In our support page, you could find the tutorial showing how to replace the DIP type LED(oval 346, 546). And to replace the SMD type LED(SMD3528, SMD3535, SMD5050 etc), the process is similar. Please see below:
1. Disassemble the mask on the LED module.

You must do this very careful, to avoid hurting the board.

This is the most difficult part of all this process. The SMD LED is easily burnt under the high temperature.

After the whole process, you could connect the module with the control card to test if it's fixed.
But you must notice that the key point to do the LED display repair is to find out the failure reason. From the failure you see, you should know what is the possible reason to cause this failure - LED itself, driving IC, PSU or some other parts. And sometimes you need to eliminate the failure reason one by one, till you find the point. And to do this good, you must be very familar with the technical things about LED display screen, as well as the experiences.

How to calculate the LED display size?

Like many newcomers to the LED display, sometimes when they provided an exact size of LED display to the manufacturer, they may feel a little confused when they get back the final screen size because they are slightly different. Here we're trying to explain why and how the final led screen's size come.
The key point is - led module size is fixed, not changeable.How to calculate the LED display size
For example of the spec "P6", which means the pixel pitch is 6mm, the module has a fixed size: 192mm×96mm. So when we have decided the pixel pitch to choose, according to the fixed led module size, we can calculate out the final screen size which is closest to the given size. Here I will give you an example for reference:
Suppose the led display size which client requires is 3646(W)×2058(H)(mm), and the pixel pitch we decide to recommend is 6mm, we would know the fixed module size is 192×96(mm). Here is the process to calculate the real and final size:
Firstly, we should calculate how many led modules needed both in width and height. Like this:
The width: 3646/192≈18.98=19
The height: 2058/96≈21.43=21
Then we can calculate out the final size of the screen, like this:
The width: 192×19=3648(mm)
The height: 96×21=2016(mm)
So, the led display screen’s final size is 3648(W) ×2016(H)(mm).
